Starting Your SOAR Initiative
State and Local Leads spearhead and coordinate the implementation of SOAR initiatives. These leaders identify and engage community partners to participate in steering committees that aim to create and implement a SOAR action plan and process for SSI/SSDI application submission for adults with serious mental illness (SMI) and children with serious emotional disturbance (SED). These committees meet regularly to collaborate, report on progress, and address challenges.
