SOAR Webinar: The Medical Summary Report - A Deep Dive for SOAR Providers

On this webinar, held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, we took a deep dive into writing effective and culturally aware Medical Summary Reports (MSRs).

Description

We invite you to join us on a deep dive into writing effective and culturally aware Medical Summary Reports (MSRs). We will walk you through a sample MSR to highlight key information to include and information to avoid! Also, we will look at how implicit bias may be influencing your writing without you being aware of it.

A SOAR provider and SOAR beneficiary will share their experience throughout the MSR interviewing and writing process. From their experience, you will learn practice tips on how to help SOAR applicants feel more comfortable sharing their stories!

What you will learn

  • How to access and utilize the MSR Interview Guide and Implicit Bias Considerations document to gather information while making the SOAR applicant feel comfortable sharing their story
  • How to identify and reduce implicit bias in MSRs
  • Why the MSR (the applicant’s story) is an important step in the SOAR process describing the applicant's struggle to function.
