Description:

Have you ever felt like you are running on fumes with the check engine light on? If so, this webinar is for you!

The SAMHSA SOAR TA Center knows the position of a SOAR practitioner can be overwhelming due to high caseloads, reviewing medical records, interviewing applicants with significant trauma histories, and working from home. Given these demands, SOAR practitioners can struggle with their own mental health, exhaustion, compassion fatigue, stress, and even burnout.

Presenters from the SAMHSA SOAR TA Center, SOAR Leads, and other experts will provide practical strategies to reduce stress and burnout, and promote overall workplace wellness. Presenters will demonstrate self-care techniques such as Meditation, Mindful Breathing, and Movement with chair yoga. We will also ask you to share your self-care routines so others can fill up their wellness tanks!

What you will learn:

  • How to incorporate wellness strategies to promote life-work integration at your agency
  • How to apply information on wellness and understand its impact on reducing stress and preventing burnout
  • How to access resources available to you, your organization, and community

Presenters:

  • Dan Coladonato, SOAR Project Associate II, SAMHSA SOAR TA Center, Delmar, New York
  • Robert Statham, Training & Technical Assistance Facilitator, New York Association of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services (NYAPRS), Rochester, New York
  • Karli J. Keator, M.P.H, PhD. Candidate, Principal of wKd Strategies, and registered yoga teacher (RYT-200), New York
  • Jeanine Yard, Training Coordinator, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Housing and Homeless Services Division and SOAR State Lead, Lansing, Michigan
