Appeals and Appointed Representative Processing Services (AARPS)

SSA's new Appeals and Appointed Representative Processing Services (AARPS) portal offers an online service option for appointed representatives (ARs) and claimants with representation.

AARPS saves time by reducing the need to call for status of claims, appointment-related forms, and fee payments.

With AARPS, representatives can:

  • View details of current claimant appointments.
  • View fee payment information.
  • Check the status of clients’ claims and appeals.
  • Create and print reports of selected appointment and fee records.
  • Review business information, including affiliations and payment preferences.

To use AARPS, you must: 

  • Create an online account.
  • Be registered with SSA through the SSA-1699 (Registration for Appointed Representative Services and Direct Payment) process.
  • Have an active or past association with a claimant.
  • Be in good standing.
